Find the Hiring Manager is an open-source Claude skill that finds the hiring manager, the recruiter, and the best referral contacts for one job posting you are applying to, then drafts the outreach. It runs in Claude Code, Cursor, and other agents that support the Agent Skills format.

What it does

Give it a LinkedIn job URL, or a company plus a job title. It answers two questions about that one posting.

• Who owns this job? The likely hiring manager, the recruiter, and a talent lead. Each one is checked as a current employee and labeled Named, Likely, or Inferred, with the evidence behind the label.

• Who can refer me? Up to eight people at the company who share your school, a past employer, your city, or the team, ranked by how warm the ask is.

It reads the company's own recent LinkedIn posts first, because a hiring post for the exact role is the best evidence there is. Then it adds funding, filtered news, and competitor context, and drafts a connection note, a LinkedIn message, an email, or a text for each person. A recruiter gets a process question, a peer gets a referral ask. A verified work email is an opt-in step. You send every message yourself.

What it won't do

It can't see your own LinkedIn network, so connection degree stays "unknown" unless you supply it. It works on one posting at a time (up to three per run), and it refuses lead lists, recruiter directories, bulk email lookups, and sending messages.

Install and use it

Run npx skills add johnisanerd/claude-skill-find-hiring-manager, sign in to the Apify CLI, then ask Claude "find the hiring manager for this job" with a posting URL. A typical posting costs about $0.16 in Apify usage, and the skill asks before spending more than $0.50.
