Designed a mobile health app that assists Type 1 Diabetics with managing blood glucose (BG) levels when external factors are involved to make precise and personalized recommendations on dosages in real time Wrote a research-backed problem statement outlining the complexities of blood sugar regulation Ideated and designed app features such as alarm configurations, camera-based carb counting, synced continuous glucose monitoring and calendar views to track their BG based on trends and daily events Conducted early concept testing by interviewing 3 diabetic users in 45-minute sessions to uncover key pain points and users’ approaches to blood sugar management when encountering common external factors (stress, exercise, diet, weather, menstruation) Created low-fidelity sketches, high-fidelity wireframes, and an interactive prototype using Figma according to user feedback and design principles Synthesized interview insights using affinity mapping, identifying themes around external factor impact, usability needs, and values Executed 3 one-on-one usability tests with target users to test the app prototype and gather feedback on UI pain points and overall user experience to make future iterations
