What is ReleaseReel?

ReleaseReel is a pack of 5 Claude Code skills that make your videos: launch films for your product, TikToks, Reels and YouTube Shorts, hand-drawn mascot shorts and faceless shorts on any topic. Ask in one sentence. Claude reads your repo, films your real product frame by frame, cuts the scenes on the beat, generates the music and renders an MP4 ready to post, with the post copy.

It is built for indie hackers, developers and small teams who ship often and need a launch video, a product demo or a social clip without opening a video editor. And it is not only for apps: the Faceless Reel skill makes shorts on any topic for a faceless channel.

The 5 skills

• Launch Film (16:9): a 1920×1080 launch or product demo video of your real app, cut on a 150 BPM beat, with X and LinkedIn post copy.

• Vertical Cut (9:16): TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts videos (1080×1920) with your app at phone size, a drawn finger, and captions kept clear of the platform's buttons.

• Doodle Mascot: a hand-drawn vertical video starring an original mascot (or two characters talking), your real app inside a drawn phone, and a voice-over with captions timed word by word.

• Faceless Reel: short videos for a faceless TikTok, Shorts or Reels channel, on any topic and in any format (explainer, top list, myth or fact, quiz, timeline), with facts checked on sources and your channel's own look and host.

• Frame Capture: frame-exact 30 fps footage of your product, filmed by Playwright on a simulated clock instead of a stuttering screen recording. Recipes for Next.js and Vite sites, web apps, phone viewports, Expo and React Native, WebGL and three.js, Chrome extensions, streaming AI answers and more.

ReleaseReel Studio

Run npm run app and a local page opens where every video of your workspace plays live while Claude edits it. Scrub the scenes, render with one click, check the stills of every scene, and turn a note like "move the title up" into a request you copy straight to Claude Code.

How it works

1. Get the facts: Claude reads your README, package.json and git history, or researches reliable sources for a topic. Every number on screen comes with its source.

2. Film it or draw it: Playwright films your production build frame by frame, or Claude draws the scenes and an original SVG mascot.

3. Cut on the beat: scenes land on a 150 BPM beat or on the voice-over. Music, whooshes and sound effects are generated by code, so there is no stock music to license.

4. Render and post: an H.264 MP4 with sound normalized to −16 LUFS, a check of the stills, and ready-to-paste post copy for X, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube Shorts.

Runs on your machine

Everything runs locally with your own Claude Code: no account, no cloud render, no watermark, no stock music. Built on Remotion (React to MP4), Playwright and ffmpeg. Voice-overs use free local Piper voices or, if you prefer, your own ElevenLabs account. One zip, one-time payment, and the videos you make are yours for personal and commercial use.
