Hydration Buddy is a lightweight Windows desktop companion that helps people drink water consistently without interrupting their workflow.

Instead of relying on repetitive system notifications, the app places a friendly floating Shih Tzu—or a custom personal avatar—near the edge of the screen. The companion stays available while you work, delivers gentle reminders at the chosen interval, and provides one-click actions to record water, snooze for 10 minutes, or skip the reminder.

The reminder schedule is action-aware: the next interval begins after the user responds, preventing reminders from arriving too early when a notification was left unanswered. Quiet hours, manual Do Not Disturb, idle detection, system lock/sleep awareness, and full-screen detection reduce interruptions during meetings, presentations, gaming, or time away from the computer.

Hydration data is stored locally using SQLite. The app requires no login, contains no ads or analytics, and does not collect unnecessary personal information. Core reminders and tracking work without an internet connection.

Hydration Buddy is built with C#, .NET, WPF, SQLite, Win32 integrations, CommunityToolkit.Mvvm, NAudio, and Serilog. It is packaged as a self-contained Windows installer using Inno Setup.
