Some people only use the keyboard. If Tab skips your "Add to cart" button, they can't buy from you. If it skips "Send" on your contact form, they can't write to you. Even Lighthouse tells you to check this by hand. Tab trail checks it for you.
Tab trail is a bookmarklet. Drag it to your bookmarks bar, click it on any site, and it draws every Tab stop in order. The orange dot is where you are. Press Tab yourself, or press Play and it visits every stop for you.
What it lists in red, each with its WCAG 2.2 rule:
Missed spots: things that look clickable, but Tab never reaches them (2.1.1 A).
Hover menus: menus that open only on mouse hover (2.1.1 A).
Forced order: tabindex above 0 pulling a stop ahead of the page (2.4.3 A).
Hidden focus: a stop fully covered by a sticky header or cookie bar when Tab reaches it (2.4.11 AA).
Keyboard trap: a stop where Tab gets stuck (2.1.2 A).
Lost focus: a popup that drops focus to the top of the page when it closes (2.4.3 A).
Out of order: every time Tab jumps out of order (2.4.3 A).
Hand it to your AI. "Copy for AI" copies only the problems, each with a CSS selector, the HTML, the React, Vue or Angular component and a fix hint. Paste it into your coding AI and it knows where to look. In tests, window.__tabTrail runs the whole walk with no clicks: npm i -D tab-trail.
