Photos, personal letters, and testimonies from people living along the Georgia / South Ossetia border — known locally as the "Zone of Fear." I joined as a freelance web designer and developer. My task was not to explain or narrate, but to frame the material in a way that does it justice. What I built: * An editorial-style grid layout inspired by print magazine spreads, designed to pace reading and let the visuals speak * Bilingual typography (English & Russian) — full typographic fine-tuning and language-aware rendering across both scripts * A responsive site optimized for desktop and mobile, including low-height screen adaptation * End-to-end development and deployment on Framer The subject is heavy, and I knew from the start that this website would not be one I'd be eager to revisit casually. That's exactly why the design had to be quiet, deliberate, and unwavering.
