I built a tiny Chrome extension to mask sensitive information before pasting text into AI.
Safe Privacy Mask is a small, practical tool for replacing sensitive details in text before sharing it with ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or other web tools. It can mask common patterns such as email addresses, phone numbers, and API keys, with custom rules for names and other terms you choose.
Free. No signup. No subscription. Masking happens locally in the browser; your text is not sent to an external server for masking.
It's available now on the Chrome Web Store through the website above. Please review the masked text before sending it—pattern-based masking can miss information.
I'd love to hear whether it fits your workflow, where masking gets in the way, and what could be clearer.
