I've always found it strange that something as important as a blood test report gets handed to you in a format that only a doctor can actually read. That's the problem Lumen tries to solve. Lumen is a mobile health app I designed from scratch. It takes your lab reports (photo, PDF, or synced directly from your lab) and breaks down every single marker in plain English, so you actually know what's going on with your own health. This project was a full end-to-end product design exercise. I mapped out 6 user flows covering everything from onboarding to notifications, designed 41 screens including all the edge cases and empty states people usually skip, and built a complete design system with colour-coded health indicators, accessible range bars, and AI-powered explanations that are honest about their limitations. One thing I'm particularly proud of: the critical alert design. When a marker is dangerously out of range, the entire screen changes tone. The AI chat button gets replaced with a "Find a doctor" CTA, because at that point the app's job isn't to converse, it's to connect you to someone who can actually help.
