Introducing Motiv Blur: motion blur, radial blur and RGB glitch, right inside Figma 🌀
Every time I needed a motion trail on a product shot or a speed effect on a hero image, I had to leave Figma, open Photoshop, export, re-import, then repeat whenever the client asked for “a bit more motion.” So I built a Figma plugin to do it without leaving the canvas.
Motiv Blur turns any layer, group or frame into a high-res blur effect with a transparent background, and places it right behind your original.
3 effect modes
→ Motion: draw the blur along a straight line or a Bézier curve. Drag the head and tail to set direction and length, then bend the path for curved trails. You can scale the trail from tail to head, fade its opacity, and Cmd/Ctrl-drag to push density toward either end.
→ Radial: Photoshop-style Spin and Zoom, with a center point you can drag anywhere. Zoom blurs outward while your subject keeps its real size.
→ RGB Glitch: three independent color bands, each with its own angle and offset. Drag the colored handles on the preview, then tune streak length, trail strength and falloff.
Made for real workflows
Live preview directly on your Figma canvas
Zoomable, pannable preview panel with undo/redo (50 steps)
Presets you can save and import/export as files to share with your team
Sources exported at 4× supersampling, output at 1×–4×
Keep the original sharp on top, or hide it and keep only the blur
Available in English, Vietnamese and Simplified Chinese
It’s free on Figma Community. I’m an indie designer building tools I wish I’d had, so feedback, feature requests and bug reports are very welcome.
