Most repos now carry rule files for AI coding agents: AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md, .cursorrules, Copilot instructions, Kiro steering, skill files. Nothing checks whether a change actually follows them.
mcp-repo-auditor does. Ask your AI assistant to "audit my branch against main" and it:
Reads the git diff (staged, working, or a whole branch).
Finds every AI rule file in the repo and splits it into single rules.
Matches only the relevant rules to each changed file, by language, path, glob and the changed code.
Has your assistant judge each file–rule pair: pass, fail or skipped, with the line and a fix.
You get a compliance table in the chat, or a self-contained HTML report with suggested fixes shown as code diffs and a tab explaining every rule.
Runs locally: no API key, no account, no network calls
Works on any repository and language, with nothing to configure per repo
Works in Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Kiro, Windsurf, Claude Desktop and any other MCP client
Install: npx -y mcp-repo-auditor
