Open-Motions is a free and open-source screen recorder designed for Chrome. It simplifies the process of creating professional-looking video demonstrations and tutorials by automatically adding cinematic zoom and pan effects based on user interactions like clicks and scrolling. This eliminates the need for manual editing in separate video editing software.
Automatic Zoom & Pan: Records screen activity and automatically zooms in on clicks and follows scrolling, creating an edited look without manual effort. Users can pick the zoom depth (1.1x to 2x) or adjust zooms on a timeline.
Click Highlighting: Highlights each click with a customizable color and intensity.
Cursor Smoothing: Smooths cursor movement and allows for size adjustment.
Background Options: Offers 12 gradient options, image backgrounds, or no background, with an optional drop shadow.
Reshapable Video: Provides nine aspect ratio options (including 16:9, 1:1, and 9:16 beta) for versatile output.
UI Element Hiding: Can hide browser tab strips, address bars, taskbars, or the Dock with a single switch.
Audio & Video Recording: Records tab or system audio, microphone input, and includes an optional picture-in-picture camera overlay.
Countdown Timer: Features a 3 or 5-second countdown before recording begins.
Editing Features: Allows trimming of video ends, undoing changes, and keyboard-based controls.
Export Options: Exports the finished video.
