AfterPack is a free JavaScript obfuscator for the AI era. A Rust engine rewrites your production bundle after the build, and every build comes out as a different program: a deobfuscation script or patch written against one release doesn't fit the next.
Why I built it: AI made reading minified JavaScript cheap. Paste a production bundle into an assistant and you get readable source back, along with the strings, feature flags and internal URLs inside it.
How it works: build your app as usual, then run npx afterpack or add the plugin for your framework (Next.js, Vite, webpack, Astro, Nuxt, SvelteKit, Angular, Electron and more). Ship the output. The next build is a different program.
There's also an in-browser playground that runs the real engine in your tab (your code never leaves the page), a WebAssembly build that runs inside Cloudflare Workers, and a free security scanner that shows what a site's JavaScript gives away: public source maps, readable logic, leaked keys.
The engine is free to use under the AfterPack licence, and the CLI and framework plugins are open source (Apache-2.0). Pro adds cloud builds and configurable protection.
