Thousands of great pieces are public domain, but playable sheet music for most instruments still costs money, and for instruments like tuba it often doesn’t exist at all. Players end up transposing and rewriting parts themselves.
syncopate arranges public-domain music for each instrument and gives it away free: written for its range and key, in difficulty levels from first notes to concert pieces, with a piano that plays along in the browser.
It started with tuba (40 pieces so far, Ode to Joy to Csárdás). More instruments follow, starting with the ones that get the least music.
Players report wrong notes and pieces get fixed, so the library keeps getting better. The goal is the best free library of public-domain music, arranged for every instrument.
In the player: tempo control, loops, metronome, count-in, full screen with page turns, free PDFs, and recording yourself over the piano.
