The S’hail app redesign was approached as a user experience optimization project, not a visual refresh. The goal was to create a hassle-free, intuitive journey for daily commuters by reducing cognitive load, navigation friction, and uncertainty during travel. Design Strategy & Approach I began by analyzing the existing app through heuristic evaluation, user journey mapping, and task-flow analysis, focusing on high-frequency actions such as route planning, ticket access, and real-time updates. Key pain points included information overload, unclear navigation hierarchy, and lack of contextual guidance, especially during peak hours. The redesign strategy focused on: Simplifying core journeys (Plan → Travel → Pay → Track) Prioritizing speed, clarity, and accessibility Designing for time-sensitive, real-world use cases common in UAE public transport AI Integration (Conceptual) AI was introduced to improve decision-making and reduce user effort through: Smart route recommendations based on real-time traffic, user behavior, and travel history Predictive alerts for delays, platform changes, and optimal departure times Context-aware suggestions (nearest transport option, fastest alternative, last-mile guidance) UX-Focused Outcome The final solution delivers a clean, scalable, and commuter-friendly experience, enabling users to complete key tasks with fewer steps, less confusion, and greater confidence. The redesign emphasizes efficiency, accessibility, and seamless mobility, aligning with UAE’s vision for smart city and digital transportation ecosystems.
