As the head of the technical evaluation team, I contributed to piloting the National Green Taxonomy, developed with support from the World Bank. My responsibilities included: - Conducting an in-depth review of the draft taxonomy, assessing its structure, sectoral scope, and alignment with international frameworks (e.g., EU Taxonomy). - Providing expert input to edit and refine Technical Screening Criteria (TSC) for key economic activities, ensuring environmental objectives and performance thresholds were relevant to Uzbekistan’s context. - Leading the pilot testing of TSC within a commercial banking environment (SQB), using real-world projects to test the feasibility and clarity of the criteria. - Evaluating green project proposals against the draft taxonomy, determining eligibility and classification based on climate mitigation and adaptation criteria. - Compiling and authoring the final pilot project report, highlighting lessons learned, challenges, and recommendations for the national rollout of the Green Taxonomy.
