1. Explanation of the Swan-Ganz Catheter Diagram

• Purpose: Measures Pulmonary Capillary Wedge Pressure (PCWP) to assess heart and lung function.

• Catheter Path: Inserted through a vein → Right Atrium → Right Ventricle → Pulmonary Artery.

• Balloon Function: Inflates to measure left atrial pressure indirectly.

• Medical Use: Diagnoses heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, and monitors critical patients.

2. How to Create This Diagram in Adobe Illustrator

1. Draw the Heart: Use the Pen Tool for structure and curves.

2. Create the Catheter Path: Use the Line Tool for the catheter and adjust stroke thickness.

3. Add Labels: Use the Type Tool and Line Tool for text and callouts.

4. Color the Diagram: Apply gradient fills (blue for deoxygenated, red for oxygenated blood).

5. Finalize: Align, group objects, and organize layers for easy editing.
