Most WordPress sites have broken ALT text, and nothing tells you how bad it is.
Filikod is a free WordPress plugin that audits every image in your Media Library, gives it one ALT score from 0 to 100, and lets you fix the problems from a single list.
What it finds
Missing or empty ALT text
Generic ALT like "image", "photo" or "IMG_4832"
ALT that is too short, too long, or copied across several images
Exact duplicate files, and look-alike images saved as different files
How you fix it
Filter by issue, edit the ALT inline and save without leaving the page
See which post or page uses each image before you write its ALT
Mark decorative images once: they keep an intentional empty alt=""
Multilingual sites are read language by language (WPML, Polylang, Bogo, WPGlobus, qTranslate-XT)
WooCommerce product images are audited like any other image
What it doesn't do
No AI guessing, no external API, no credits, no account. Your images stay on your server. You write the ALT text, Filikod shows you where it's missing.
It covers the image rule behind WCAG, the ADA, the European Accessibility Act and RGAA (success criterion 1.1.1). It doesn't replace a full accessibility audit.
