Most typing tests hand you random words or scrambled sentences. TypeCram hands you real stories, science, and history instead, then turns typing them into a race with gamifying features.
What you can do:
- Race live with friends, up to 20 players in a room, real time
- Race your own ghost, so your only real opponent is who you were yesterday
- Pick your mode: Classic typing, Cinema mode, Arcade Race, or a Piano-Tiles-style Rhythm mode
- Learn from scratch with a structured 30-lesson typing course, not just endless tests
- Track real progress: speed and accuracy over time, not a single WPM screenshot
Built for the MonkeyType and TypeRacer crowd who are tired of typing gibberish, and for anyone who'd rather spend practice time reading something worth reading.
Why I built this
I quit social media in 8th grade because I didn't like what constant scrolling was doing to my attention. Typing practice apps had the same problem in miniature: you sit there hammering out nonsense words, staring at a timer, training your fingers while your mind gets nothing back.
I wanted a version of "practice" that respected your attention instead of numbing it. So TypeCram races you through real stories and real science while you build the skill, so the 10 minutes you spend getting faster also leaves you having learned or read something real.
I'm 18, building this out of Kazakhstan, currently at nFactorial Incubator. This is early and I'm building in public, feedback welcome.
