dossi is browser extension and web app to keep track of your own private GitHub notes.
More on the backstory -> dossi is now open source

I work in GitHub a lot, across multiple projects and organizations. It's always a challenge to keep track of all the links and thoughts that I have in the moment, especially for things like issues or PRs that could be open for a long time. I was either in tab overload or copy/pasting all of these links and notes into other places but then never following up. Tbh, all of the different processes and notifications in different places was messy.
So I created dossi, with the goal of simplifying all of that - providing easy entry points for developers and users to maximize their recall when jumping from page to page on GitHub 🚀.
Notes are accessible in multiple formats: on the page directly where you create them and also on the web app, which provides a "meta" way to track, sort, filter all of your activity.
dossi includes: notes, labels, pinned pages, a web app to aggregate and download your notes and simple and easy to use 😊.
How dossi works -
1. After installation, sign in with your GitHub account to start using the extension.
2. The browser extension will now show when visiting a GitHub URL. Open the sidebar by clicking on the dossi button. The button will also display the number of notes that you have for the page.
3. Capture thoughts in the moment when exploring an open-source project, triaging an open issue or collaborating on pull requests. Add notes, pins or label a page when you get an idea or don't want to forget your stream of consciousness.
4. Your notes will be available when you visit the page again or reviewed and managed "across page" from the web app.
