Odeo is home ground: a text-only Twitter alternative for India. It is for saying what you think in plain words, and being read for what you said rather than for where you are from.
There are no images, no ads and no algorithm deciding who gets heard. Nothing is boosted. Nothing is buried. Trending simply shows the hashtags people have used in the last day. Short posts, up to 280 characters, are always free. When a thought needs more room, a long post of up to 5,000 characters costs one credit.
Posts can carry a place: a city, and a ward or neighbourhood within it. Each place has its own page, so Indiranagar can talk about Indiranagar and Bandra about Bandra, and a city’s conversation stays with the people who live in it.
When a post needs context, anyone can add a note. A note appears only when people who usually disagree both rate it helpful, so the notes that show are ones both sides accept. Edits are marked, and every earlier version stays readable.
Odeo is built on the AT Protocol, the open network Bluesky runs on. Everything you write is kept in your own account, not on Odeo’s servers. Sign in with Bluesky, or create a free account in a minute. Anyone can read without signing up; joining takes a quick human check, and new accounts start small to keep bots out.
