Started as a local delivery service for groceries in less than 2 hours like Grofers (It wasn’t in Pune when we planned this out). Later we moved purely to delivering fresh fruits and vegetables. Users could place order using phone call, email, sms, whatsapp, website, mobile, etc and fruit and vegetables gets delivered to them next morning. Most of the things like order, purchase list, etc was automated later. We had a team of veg buyers, packers and delivery boys. Flow was like this, customers could place their order as late as 2 in the night and we purchased fresh fruits and veggies daily as per the order received, around 5 in the morning. After that we weighed them as per each order and delivered it by 11 am. Customers liked our service a lot because we never compromised on quality. But we couldn't continue as we were unable to break even. Whole operation was people intensive and hence a costly affair so we decided to close it. This eight month roller coaster startup thing taught us the some of the biggest lessons in managing people, time, customer needs, etc and we enjoyed every bit of it.
