Knot.js is an experimental content-addressed dependency execution framework for JavaScript and TypeScript. I created it to explore an alternative to the traditional assumption that an entire dependency tree must be installed into a project-local node_modules directory before software can execute. Knot uses a declare → resolve → verify → store → execute model built around immutable content and on-demand retrieval. The project includes a CLI and Core API distributed through npm and experiments with dependency resolution, package verification, lock signatures, attestations, workspaces, CommonJS compatibility, and content-addressed execution.
