In University, I took a gap semester to self-learn software engineering through building a web application I was passionate about - to alleviate loneliness and depression by helping people build stronger circles. The app is Bruce, a gamified CRM that helps workaholics preserve relationships. Through this project, I learned Vue.js fundamentals like components and reactive programming. Also, I built chatbots on Facebook Messenger and Telegram to interact with the users, all powered by a database server in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Python Flask. Going through the entire technical stack - I realised this was what people meant by being a full-stack developer.
