BBM is more than a messenger app. It's a social eco-system that features various services like news-feed, payment, video games, sports, e-commerce, blogs... With over 100 million installs on Android, BBM has become one of the largest mobile messaging applications, and also a direct competitor of LINE and WhatsApp. I was the Anchor (Technical Lead) of Asset Sharing which focuses on improving performance, reducing the error rate on file, media sharing. I have worked closely, coordinated with the other teams located in Canada, Singapore, and Indonesia to develop new features, improve performance and refactor the legacy code base.
