A short GIF can still be too large for an email, a support article or a product demo. CompressGIF helps you get the file size down and check the result before downloading.
Drop a GIF into the browser and choose quality-first, size-first or a target size. Local files stay on your device during compression. Exports have no watermark, and the original dimensions, animation frames, timing and looping are kept by default. Resizing is optional.
The free plan handles up to three GIFs per batch, with a 10 MB limit per file. You can try 100 KB, 512 KB or 1 MB targets. If a target cannot be reached, the tool tells you and offers the smallest result it found. Paid plans add larger batches and files, custom targets and ZIP downloads.
For developers, there is also a hosted REST API and an MCP endpoint for automated workflows. These jobs run in the cloud, separately from local browser compression.
