MiniPerplx Changelog

Hello folks! After a long time, there are a few new features now available on MiniPerplx!

All the updates are live on mplx.run/search

Let me walk you through them one by one.

Results Overview

Now, when you search for a person, place, or event on MiniPerplx, it will generate an overview about them. If the person has a personal website or a Wikipedia page, the page is scraped and returned with a specific schema to fit the overview.

Default Search Engine

You can now set MiniPerplx as your default search engine using URL parameters. Just add ?query=%s to the URL to set the default search query. The model can also be set using the model parameter.

And Finally 🥁🥁🥁.....o1-mini!

OpenAI's o1-mini model is now available as "Reasoning" in the model dropdown! It’s currently in beta and doesn't support all features, like web search, but you get 10 uses every 4 hours.

Pro tip: Instead of paying Perplexity $20 for 10 uses per day, use o1-mini on MiniPerplx with 10 uses every 4 hours and save $20 🤑🤑
