Purr lives in your Mac's menu bar. Hold Right Option, talk, let go, and what you said is typed into whatever app you're in: Slack, Mail, Notes, a code editor, a form in your browser. The speech recognition runs on your Mac, using NVIDIA's Parakeet model for English or Whisper for about 100 languages. Your audio never leaves the machine, there's no account to make, and once the models have downloaded it works with Wi-Fi off.Smart Typing puts the words into the app while you're still speaking.Meeting notes record your mic and your Mac's audio, label who said what, and save a transcript and a summary with action items as Markdown files. They work in English and 27 more languages.Voice Edit rewrites text you've selected. Hold Control-Option-E and say something like "change Friday to Thursday" or "make this shorter". Apple Intelligence or Gemma 4 does the rewrite, also on your Mac.You can add names and jargon for Purr to listen for, fix words it keeps getting wrong, and use voice commands like "comma", "new paragraph" and "scratch that".Purr is free and MIT-licensed. It needs an Apple silicon Mac with macOS 14 or later.

Hi, I'm Arun. I make small tools for the Mac.I built Nook because browsing had stopped feeling quiet. I would open a page to read one article and get a cookie banner, a video that starts on its own, a sidebar I never opened, a prompt to sign in, a prompt to sync, a new AI button. The article was in there somewhere, under all of it.Nook is a row of tabs and an address bar with a handful of buttons. What it does:• Blocks ads and trackers with Ghostery's filter lists, built into the app. There is no extension to add.• Reader mode shows the headline, the text and the pictures, without the sidebars and sign-up boxes.• Focus mode hides the tabs and toolbar so the article gets the whole window. You can still type an address while they stay hidden.• Cookies, cache and site data are cleared every time you quit, so each session starts signed out. No account, no sync, no telemetry. It runs on Chromium, so pages render the way they do in Chrome. One limitation up front: Netflix and other DRM-protected streaming won't play.Nook is free on the Mac App Store, or as a direct download from browser.arunbrahma.com, for Apple silicon and Intel Macs (macOS 13 or later). I'd like to hear what breaks or what you'd change.Mac App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/nook-quiet-browser/id6812784936Video demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkVi4CWRYk0

I'm Arun, the developer of Prompt Deck.ProblemI change coding agents most weeks: Claude Code one day, Codex the next, Cursor when I'm working in the editor. Each one keeps its own memory file (CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md, GEMINI.md) and stores its slash commands and chat history in a different folder and format. That got messy fast. Finding a prompt from a few weeks back meant remembering which agent I'd used and then digging through its log files, and my CLAUDE.md or AGENTS.md files had drifted apart across projects. So I built Prompt Deck. It's a native SwiftUI app that finds all of that on your disk and puts it in one window. Nothing to import, no account, and Prompt Deck itself only goes online to check your licence. The parts I spent the most time on:Prompts that become slash commands - write a prompt once, with {{variables}} you fill in when you use it, and install it as a real slash command in Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Antigravity CLI or Qwen Code. Every prompt keeps its version history, so you can compare two versions side by side and restore the one you want.Every memory file in one list - global and per project, for every agent. Edit them in place, or append the same note to several projects at once.Searchable session histories from these coding agents - Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode, Antigravity CLI, GitHub Copilot, Qwen Code, DeepSeek Harness, Continue, Pi and Aider, searchable together. When an agent hands work to a sub-agent, that run opens right under the call that started it. One click resumes a session in your terminal.Dreams (Pro only) - pick a memory file, say a project's CLAUDE.md, and a coding agent you already have installed, like Claude Code or Codex. Prompt Deck hands that agent your recent sessions and asks it to rewrite the file: keep the rules that still apply, update the ones your sessions show are out of date, and add what you keep repeating in chat. You get the result as a diff with a few notes on how you work, and nothing changes until you press Apply. It works on prompts too.Insights (Pro only) - sessions per day for each agent, tokens in and out, your busiest projects, the tools and models you use most, the prompts you reuse, and a heatmap of when in the week you actually work. Also, has a Command-K launcher that finds any prompt, session or memory file from any app, and exports sessions as Markdown or a web page.ComparisonClaude Code History Viewer is free, open source, and reads more agents than Prompt Deck. It's a history browser, though: there's no prompt library and nothing for memory files. It's also built on Tauri, so the interface is a web view rather than a native Mac app. Each agent's own resume picker (like /resume in Claude Code or codex resume) lists only that agent's sessions, and you can't search across tools.PricingFree with no time limit: your 10 most recent sessions, 2 prompts and 2 memory files. Pro is $3.99/month or $29.99/year on up to 5 Mac accounts, and adds Pro features including Dreams, Insights, version history, export and sharing.Use code DECKLAUNCH for 50% off your first year on the yearly plan of Prompt Deck Pro. Jot is a quick capture app for Mac. Press one hotkey from any app, type the thought, and it is saved. No switching windows, no losing your place. You are already back to what you were doing.I am a solo developer, and the thing that wrecked my focus was never the big interruptions. It was the small stuff that shows up mid-task: a bug I would forget by lunch, a name I needed to keep, the one good line for an email I was avoiding. Saving it meant leaving what I was doing to open a notes app, and by the time I got back the thought was gone. Most days I did not bother. Jot is the fix.
How Jot works

Press Option+Space anywhere on your Mac. A small capture box opens over whatever you are looking at.

Type, hit Command+Return, and it is saved. The box disappears and you are back where you were.

Every note goes into one searchable local log. Find anything later, click a line to copy it, or export the lot to Markdown.

A private, offline notes app with no account

Your notes live in a plain text file on your Mac. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and there is no telemetry. Jot works offline.

It never asks for permissions. No Accessibility, microphone, or screen recording prompts. It works the moment you open it.

Menu bar only. No dock icon and no window to manage. It waits in your menu bar for the hotkey.

Jot vs Apple Notes and Drafts
If you have been looking for an Apple Notes alternative or a lighter Drafts alternative for quick capture on macOS, here is the trade Jot makes. It does one job fast. Capturing never means switching apps or waiting on iCloud the way it does in Apple Notes. And unlike Drafts, the Mac features are not behind a subscription. You pay once and own it.
Pricing
$4.99, paid once. Free updates for every version, and it runs on up to three Macs. No subscription and no upsell. Jot is a native, universal Swift app for macOS 14 and later, notarized by Apple, and around 650 KB.
Who Jot is for
Developers, writers, students, and anyone who thinks faster than they can file. If you keep a scratchpad open, scribble on sticky notes, or lose ideas because saving them breaks your flow, this is built for you.Try it: jot.arunbrahma.com
