As a Junior Front End Engineer at Powerledger, I was involved in the development of reusable UI components and new features. My role allowed me to enhance my skills in React, Typescript, and GraphQL. I gained practical experience with code quality tools like Sonar, linting tools, and GitHub Action flows, ensuring adherence to high-quality code standards.

I actively advocated for positive user experiences, collaborating closely with the product, QA, and design teams throughout the development process. A key accomplishment was leading the migration of the UI web app from a monolithic repository structure to an independent web app repository. Additionally, I regularly sought feedback from team members, participated in cross-functional meetings, and employed agile methodologies to align with project goals and prioritise tasks efficiently.

Junior Front End Engineer

In my role as a Software Engineer at Honeywell, I specialised in developing data visualisation tools for industrial automation systems, focusing on enhancing system efficiency through improved state management in React projects. I collaborated with global teams to meet project deadlines and deliver critical features. One of my key achievements was leading the transition from Create React App (CRA) to Vite, and implementing an open-source data visualisation library that optimised resource usage.

Software Engineer

A standout experience during my duties as a lifeguard was having to use my critical response skills to save a drowning child. This experience, in particular, shows my ability to respond quickly in time-critical and stressful circumstances.

I provided a high level of service expected from a five-star luxury resort, ensuring guests needs were attended to in a polite and discreet manner. This position taught me the importance of teamwork, in a large environment.

Whilst working at the ATO, I had been able to enhance and build upon my skills in dealing with stakeholders on an ongoing and non-ongoing basis. Particularly ensuring taxpayers are in compliance with their various taxation obligations. 

My motivation stems from being able to play a part in delivering a crucial service to the wider Australian community. In my daily activities, I am able to feel and see how vital the ATO is to the economic and social wellbeing of the public. I am driven by the ATO’s objective in fostering willing participation in the tax and superannuation systems. In providing this service I ensure that I deal with clients in a professional, respectful and timely manner. 

Another key factor that drives my work ethic is being a part of a team environment, sharing the common goal of providing an exemplary service to our wider community. I feed off the accomplishments and common goals of our team, which drives me to play my part in reaching these goals.

In my graduate role at Novata Solutions, I focused on developing and implementing feature requests and bug fixes within SharePoint SPFx React/Typescript environments and Joomla PHP plugins & configuration. This role involved addressing and resolving complex bugs and managing feature requests through a ticketing system. 

I contributed to the development and testing of solutions, particularly in SharePoint SPFx React/Typescript and creating custom PHP Joomla plugins/addons, while being engaged in a continuous learning process. My duties also included researching best practices and libraries, sharing these insights with my team to collectively enhance our knowledge and efficiency. Balancing my independent learning with teamwork, I was an enthusiastic collaborator, contributing to the team’s success while enhancing my professional skills.
