In 2018, I had the incredible opportunity to volunteer at an American Corner as a science and technology teacher for six months. During this period, I dedicated myself to teaching students about the profound impact of technology on Africans. Through engaging lessons and hands-on activities, I aimed to empower young minds by showcasing how technology has transformed various aspects of African societies. From advancements in agriculture to the rise of mobile banking, I highlighted the positive changes that technology has brought to the continent. During my time as a volunteer, I encouraged students to explore the potential of emerging technologies and how they can be harnessed to address local challenges. Through interactive discussions and practical projects, we delved into topics such as renewable energy, digital entrepreneurship, and data analysis. At Brand Generation College, I built six core systems from scratch: a Learning Management System for 6,000+ students (course materials, assignments, automatic grading), a Research Management System (proposals, approvals, budget tracking), a Library Management System with RFID (digital catalog, online borrowing, automated reminders), a College Grading System (grade entry, GPA, transcripts), an AI‑Based Course Recommender (collaborative filtering), and an Automated Timetable Generator (constraint‑satisfaction, cut scheduling from two weeks to two hours). I also lead IT operations across the campus, maintaining 99.9% uptime.

At Africomia, I am the Product Manager. I built Arif Learn  a local AI learning desktop app using Electron, powered by Ollama. It is loaded with national education books. We are currently pilot testing it in 3 schools in Jimma.
