Since I started at Google in 2007 as an Information Security Engineer, my main goal has been to make our products and services safer. In 2014, I got the chance to lead a team of really smart engineers from all over the world. We work hard to check our products for any security weaknesses and to come up with new tools and services that not only make Google safer but also help protect people everywhere on the internet.

Our team does a lot of different things, like building tools that keep harmful software in check and finding bugs that could make our systems vulnerable. We're always on the lookout for ways to make things more secure and when we find a problem, we make sure the right people know so it can be fixed.

We don’t keep these discoveries to ourselves; if we find a problem that could also affect other companies or products, like Apache, OpenSSL, or OpenSSH, we let them know too. It’s all about making the internet a safer place for everyone, not just Google.
