Assistant Architect

I was grateful to have been able to work on my second 6 months placement with LT studio. My experience here gave me better insight into the landscape design industry. I learned how external spaces surrounding a building or urban space is really important in enhancing architecture. I also learned about the role of a landscape architect in the construction industry which consisted of creating spaces that interact with the public as well as the building.

Achievements:
1. Gained experience for RIBA stages 1 to 5.
2. Improving my eye for detail during preparation of drawing packages.
3. Gained experience using an unfamiliar software, Adobe Illustrator.
4. Improved communication and team work skills through having to work from home despite the difference in time zones.
5. Improved ability to think and design in a wider context through landscape.
6. Coordinating information and working together with architects, structural, civil, lighting as well as drainage engineers.

Assistant Landscape Architect

V Team is a student-led volunteering group which aims to contribute more to the society through community-driven volunteering events. V Team aims to also raise awareness among students and to encourage them to pick up and try volunteering and contribute to our society. Through being part of V Team, I had the privilege of meeting and getting to know amazing selfless individuals who also have an interest in volunteering as I was.

My role as a Publicity Officer involves preparing promotional materials for our events which includes:
1. Creating flyers and posters for V Team events/projects
2. Designing plasma screen adverts
3. Manage V Team social media accounts
4. Write articles & press releases for the papers (Impact & Bath Chronicle)



BURBAN dance society is a very diverse international society that focuses on mixed genre choreography as well as break style dances. Joining the society was my way of relieving stress from coursework as well as keeping in shape. I was fortunate to be able to be the media manager of the society during my second year, working closely with like-minded individuals from different backgrounds.

My role as a media manager includes but not limited to:
1. Working together with the social secretary in promoting society events and socials.
2. Promoting regular club activities and dance classes through word of mouth or social media.
3. Designing posters to attract new members.
4. Designing the graphics for the society shirt.
5. Helping out other members of the committee when required, such as organising venues for training events, helping out during show performances etc.

Media Manager

During my summer break, I decided to take on a two-month internship at YTL to gain first-hand experience in the construction and design industry. I had the pleasure of observing meetings with clients and had my first experience doing a building survey of a listed building, which I then had to use measurements taken to draw elevations and sections using AutoCAD.

Key achievements:
1. Gained knowledge in building surveying, and preparing existing elevations and sections with the obtained information.
2. Gained insight in communicating with clients and making design decisions through meetings.

Architectural Intern

I was working as a Part 1 Architectural Assistant for 4 months for my placement at Colony Architects. During my 3 months of working, I gained an insight into how the industry works in the UK primarily about concept and planning stages. I learned how an Architect's work is not only to design but to also be mindful of conservation of listed buildings and attending meetings with clients, contractors, and engineers.

Key achievements:
1. Gained knowledge in preparing planning applications.
2. Gained experience in preparing industry level drawing packages (elevations, sections, plans).
3. Gained knowledge in how to respond to sites or projects involving listed buildings.
4. Attending meetings with engineers regarding fire safety of a project involving a 5 storey building.

Part 1 Architectural Assistant

- Conducted extensive competitive analysis and market research to identify opportunities for new features and improvements to existing products on the web and app (including the Hiredly resume builder, AI job recommendations, user profile, and Hiredly Mobile App full redesign,).
- Designed and implemented a new onboarding experience for Hiredly, resulting in a 20% increase in completion rate.
- Developed user personas through in-depth research, including online user surveys and in-person usability testing.
- Built wireframes and refined high-fidelity mockups and prototypes for three different breakpoints, ensuring an optimal user experience across multiple devices.
- Collaborated closely with cross-functional teams, including Tech, Marketing, and Business, to ensure alignment with business objectives and effective communication of design solutions.
