I build and run Edith, an editorial tool for novelists.
Edith reads a complete manuscript, up to 150,000 words, holds all of it in context, and works through it in stages: the structural read first, the line level last. She raises one note at a time, and the author accepts it, rejects it, or argues back. She never writes a sentence of the book.
I started it because my wife self-publishes and kept hitting the same wall. Professional editing runs into the thousands, and the affordable tools either lost the first half of the book by the end or quietly rewrote her sentences into something that was not hers.
I work on the product, the writing, and getting it in front of authors. Recent: a public sample of a full editorial letter so people can judge the output before signing up, and a six-stage pipeline that carries decisions forward so the same argument is not had twice.
