Mobile and desktop application to help event planners and fundraisers bring their silent auctions into the digital age. Completely self-serve, users can create and manage their auctions through the app, and auction guests can browse and bid on items, getting notified when they are outbid. We initiated this project on a pro bono basis to support the Edmonton Christmas Bureau's Christmas fundraising breakfast. Existing auction solutions started at $1k per auction, and their auction would only raise a few thousand as it was. The initial project was written, tested and published in about 7 weeks and resulted in a successful auction. We were inspired, and proceeded to build out the auction platform and pursue commercialization. In addition to a good portion of the development, I was also in charge of everything else: customer success, support, sales, marketing strategy and execution, road mapping and project management. In the early years, our marketing budget was on the order of $100-200/month and it was a project I just ran off the side of my desk. Nonetheless, we managed to grow it to having run almost 800 auctions in the first 3 years and have helped customers raise almost $30 million. I also attended a startup accelerator and participated in pitch events, and have incorporated learnings from that into continued product development. What started out as a small little app to support Community Leagues in Edmonton, Alberta, has come a long way. It was a ground up rebuild, incorporating everything we've learned over the past couple years and then some. Just a few of the things we've added: - A simple page builder that lets people build responsive branded pages without overwhelming them with configuration options. - A rich events and programs management tool for taking registrations and selling ticket and managing attendance - Marketing and promotion tools with view, click and conversion tracking without needing a PhD in google ad words - Online marketplace, inventory tracking, specials - Four different payment providers supported: Stripe Connect, Full Stripe, PayPal and Square - Fundraising campaign management with support for sponsors and sponsorships, donations, products, events, auctions and raffles, all activities managed and reported on from one dashboard! - Single-sign on into sister products Bid Beacon and Raffle Rocket - High availability architecture Next release this spring will add Membership management, forms and surveys and a few other goodies! Usable by just about any organization, but our main ICP is fundraisers and charities, as they can benefit most from all the features available, including Online Raffles! We've also been working with Haidong Lang over at WE Seniors, a fantastic seniors activity center in Edmonton, to meet all the needs of centers like theirs. The biggest change to meet their needs was to build out the events system to support various styles of programs, and the online marketplace to support their meal program. Our vision is to provide Fundraisers with every service they could possibly need, and will continue to develop the platform until that goal is met!

CommuniBee Suite

Worked with a client to design, spec and build out a cryptocurrency broker platform to streamline operations. The platform calculated quantity of crypto to purchase for given CAD amount given foreign exchange, crypto coin price and platform fees, then initiate transaction and monitor for completion over Binance's API. The platform also collected customer information, tracked unusual customer behavior, and aggregated reports for KYC regulatory actions. Platform was built out with multi-tenancy in preparation for a franchising model.

Worked with a client to replace their paper based processes with a custom software solution, all the way from customer tracking and estimates, through scheduling of production and delivery. Solution included ability to upload editable design templates that could be customized with customer requirements on a call. When jobs were approved and scheduled for production, the specs from templates would be used to calculate fabrication requirements, which would be displayed on ruggedized touchscreens in the shop. As fabrication proceeded, completion of various steps would be recorded and process reported in real time to the business. When product was ready to ship, the solution provided delivery scheduling and truck loading logistics as well as delivery confirmations with SMS and photo upload.
