We introduce OwnDB, a project designed to simplify database management. Our mission is to enable users to efficiently provision and manage their databases or hardware, achieving up to 1.9x savings compared to RDS. I also discuss our platform's flexibility, which allows integration with any compute option that provides SSH access. We present cost comparisons showing significant differences between RDS and our solution, and highlight some alternatives we've researched, noting their limitations.
