yv — A Version-Controlled Development Command Playbook The Challenge
With AI-assisted development, developers are working across more projects, repositories, stacks, and environments than ever. After a few days, you end up asking:

How do I start this project?

How do I run the tests?

What's the database migration command?

How do I start the required services?

These commands are usually scattered across READMEs, shell history, Slack, and personal notes.
About the Project
yv is a command runner designed for developers who manage multiple projects. It aims to streamline the process of executing shell commands by providing a user-friendly interface and shareable configurations. The tool is particularly useful in the context of AI-assisted development, where developers often juggle numerous repositories, stacks, and environments. yv keeps these commands organized and easy to run.
Key Features

📦 Commands with the Code Commit yv.yaml with your project. yv automatically discovers playbooks inside your projects and makes them available to run.

▶️ Click to Run Run shell commands with a single click, with output streamed directly into an integrated terminal.

🤝 Shareable Share project command configurations with your team without relying on shell history, documentation, or manual copying.

🌎 Environments Support for local, staging, production, and other environments while keeping secrets and local variables private.

📡 Peer-to-Peer Sharing Share project configurations and files directly between devices on the same network, without requiring an account or cloud service.

🖥️ Cross-Platform Available on macOS, Windows, and Linux.Motivation

AI-assisted development makes it easier to work on many projects, but it also means remembering and switching between countless commands.
