Introduction to LangGraph

Bachelor of Science (BS)

Master's degree

In this position, I was doing research and implementation on various electronic trading algorithms and simulate their execution and measure performance on various markets (futures, ForEx and stock indexes). I've implemented many complex systems from a custom tick data filter based on Olsen, Kalman and neural network filters, various technical and fundamental trading algorithms and exotic indicators, trading strategies based on non-linear regressions, taking advantage of fundamental behaviors exposed by economic numbers or news impact, to execution algorithms based on genetic programming.

Software Developer

In this role, I'm managing the entire engineering department composed of multiple local and offshore developers, IT/Netops, and data science teams on a very ambitious journey to reinvent G2 as a data-driven, technology-first company, capable of breaking into new verticals and scaling out to the full potential of the data and expertise the company has. This implies amongst other things, a redesign of the existing platform, a complete migration towards cloud services, and a full adoption and integration of the latest AI and machine learning algorithms in all commercial offerings.

VP of Data Science and Engineering

My duties as a principal lead (a director position) include managing three data science and engineering teams: Modeling and Predictive Analytics (MPA), Text Analytics (TA) and Platform Analytics (PA). I’ve grown my former MPA team, to almost ten people, and I’ve been coordinating them using Agile and Scrum to deliver advanced data processing and analytics, both historical and real-time, to a very big healthcare organization, as part of an eight-figure contract to build a data lake and applications for population health management, cost and utilization optimization, provider performance monitoring and antibiotic utilization and resistance reporting. This is a very demanding role, involving everything from interacting every day with the customer for requirements gathering and other project management calls to explaining the results obtained and the methods used while providing technical support in all the stages of the sales and engagement cycles. At the same time, I’ve built and managed

Principal Lead Software Engineering

In this role, I prototyped an implemented various analytics capabilities of Atigeo’s xPatterns platform. From a distributed system capable of web crawling, extracting relevant text, entity name recognition and on the fly ontology creation, to neural network based word meaning disambiguation, and Markov chain Monte Carlo Gibbs sampling based approximate Bayesian inference, for finding user preferences for content-based recommendations. I’ve designed and implemented some of the natural language processing and machine learning components utilized in Atigeo’s computer-assisted coding solution and produced many proof of concepts involving unstructured data mining in various verticals. I’ve ported some of the platform components from .NET to Java utilizing big data open source technologies like Cassandra, Solr and Hadoop.

Senior Data Scientist

As a senior lead, I’ve grown my team from two people to five, being directly involved in managing a seven-figure contract with a big healthcare customer delivering big data analytics (terabytes of structured data) in the form of business intelligence driven, actionable, dashboards leveraging some of the predictive models we’ve built to reduce the risk of readmissions for patients upon discharge or detecting fraud in insurance claims and finding interesting patterns in the referral networks. We’ve also contributed to the analytical layer of Atigeo’s xPatterns platform with a python library we’ve designed and implemented for allowing fast prototyping for data scientists, giving them the flexibility to work and debug their machine learning code in an IPython notebook, locally, and, with a switch of an input variable, run the same complex code in production, at scale, against all the data, and automatically deploy real-time scoring service. Amongst other things, I’ve also built a distribut

Senior Lead Software Engineering

Sr. Manager, AI Platform and Solutions

Started this role with a small team with minimal impact to the business and built it to drive successful strategic initiatives under very tight budgets and with limited resources. In less than three months we've replaced an external subscription-based data science toolset with an internal, custom-built solution that enabled faster research and easier integration with other systems. Built a distributed processing system to analyze large quantities of unstructured data and obtained a 10x performance increase with a 50x reduction in cost. I have actively supported sales, client services, and the higher management in all their efforts through meetings and demos with key clients, partners and board members and by speaking at the company's conferences and events presenting our data science strategy. The company was successfully acquired by Verisk Analytics with the work of the data science group having a meaningful weight in the overall decision.
