Optum

Senior Software Engineer

Mar 2025 - Present (1 yr, 7 m) • hyderabad, india • full-time

Resolved a critical production incident in high-traffic financial services by diagnosing and fixing a thread-local context corruption bug in parallel-stream distributed pipelines - improving system stability by 40% and eliminating a class of race conditions across 3 downstream services.
Architected and owned a cloud-native microservices platform on AWS EKS using Java 17, Spring Boot, and Apache Kafka - implementing circuit breakers and exponential-retry fault-tolerance patterns that sustained 99.9%+ availability under peak financial transaction loads, monitored via CloudWatch and Prometheus/Grafana dashboards.
Spearheaded developer-experience automation by engineering a Python and Shell-based self-service provisioning system for JFrog SaaS infrastructure, fully integrated into CI/CD pipelines - cutting developer onboarding and setup time by 60%, adopted org-wide across 10+ engineering teams.

Software Engineer

May 2024 - Mar 2025 (10 m) • hyderabad, india • full-time

Architected a scalable AWS data archiving solution using S3 lifecycle policies, RDS table partitioning, and Lambda-triggered pipelines - reducing cold-storage infrastructure costs by 45% ($150K/yr) and improving historical data retrieval speed by 30% across financial reporting workloads.
Designed and delivered a Kafka-based event streaming platform to replace legacy batch-processing pipelines - processing millions of financial records daily at scale, improving data accuracy by 25%, and generating $10M+ in annualised operational savings; the single highest-impact technical initiative of the team's 4-year roadmap.
Led a monolith-to-microservices migration of 8+ tightly-coupled services to Spring Boot microservices on Kubernetes (EKS) - achieving 20% infrastructure cost reduction and enabling independent horizontal scalability per service domain.
Built a production observability stack with distributed tracing, Grafana dashboards, and proactive CloudWatch alerting - reducing MTTR by 35%.

Associate Software Engineer 2

May 2023 - Apr 2024 (11 m) • hyderabad, india • full-time

Architected an AWS data archiving system using S3 Intelligent-Tiering lifecycle policies, RDS table partitioning, and Lambda-triggered pipelines, cut cold-storage infrastructure costs by 45% (~$150K/yr) and improved historical data retrieval speed by 30%.
Authored Java + Python migration tooling that automated movement of 2+ years of historical data from production RDS to cold archive without service downtime, eliminating a 6-month manual migration backlog.
Collaborated with senior engineers on Java microservice feature delivery — onboarded into team's distributed-systems codebase and shipped 12+ production-grade pull requests in first 6 months.
