JPMorganChase - Software Engineering Job Simulation

Bachelor of Technology - BTech

At the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) operates under the Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell (MIC) to foster a robust startup and entrepreneurial ecosystem on campus. It bridges the gap between academics and industry through events, IP workshops, and innovation challenges.

Web Developer at Institute Innovation Council, IIT Roorkee

Integrated Kafka into a Spring Boot microservice to consume and deserialize high-volume transaction messages using a configurable topic and embedded Kafka test framework. Implemented transaction validation, entity modeling, persistence, and user balance updates using Spring Data JPA and H2. Integrated an external Incentive REST API with RestTemplate into transactional workflows. Exposed a Spring REST controller for querying user balances with JSON responses, and verified end-to-end behavior using Maven tests and debugger-driven inspection across messaging, database, and external API interactions.

Software Engineering Job Simulation on Forage

Supported payment, refund, and subscription backend workflows and built frontend architecture using Next.js. Managed application data flow and persistence using databases, ensuring correct handling of transactional data. Monitored application logs, debugged production issues, and assisted in improving overall system stability. Collaborated with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot failures and support smooth application operations.

Software Engineering Specialist

I completed a one-month internship in Full Stack Web Development in December 2024, focusing on React for the front end and Firebase for the back end. During this internship, I successfully built four projects that enhanced my technical skills.

The first was an Web Application, created using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, showcasing my skills in an engaging format. The second was a responsive Interactive Resume, also developed with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, emphasizing clean design and functionality.

The more advanced projects included a Gram Panchayat Web Application and a Shopping Mall Web Application, built using React and Firebase. These involved creating dynamic user interfaces, real-time database integration, authentication, and deployment on Firebase Hosting.

This internship provided valuable hands-on experience in full-stack development and problem-solving.
