TrustOS: The AI Permission Layer for Secure AI Agents
TrustOS is a revolutionary AI Permission Layer designed to sit between AI agents and real-world actions. It acts as a crucial intermediary, ensuring that AI agents operate within defined boundaries and execute actions securely. The system focuses on preventing rogue actions, enforcing fail-closed governance, and generating cryptographically auditable execution evidence, making AI agents more trustworthy.

Trust Contract Engine: Every task is compiled into an immutable Trust Contract that defines scope, risk tolerance, permitted resources, and forbidden tools, all secured by digital signatures before execution.

Fail-Closed Policy Engine: This engine evaluates arguments against active security policies. If an action exceeds its scope or introduces unapproved side-effects, TrustOS blocks execution cleanly, safeguarding system resources.

Live Search Connectors: Integrates with Google Web Index Search (via Tavily API/Gemini Grounding) and GitHub Repository Search (via GitHub REST API) for real-time data retrieval and analysis.

Rate-Limit & Quota Resilience: Features built-in exponential backoff with jitter for API errors, secondary provider failover (Groq, OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek), and a reliable demo mode for safe experimentation.

ElevenLabs Voice Governance: Enables real-time speech-to-text and text-to-speech interaction, with fallback options for voice synthesis.

Cryptographic Decision Replay & Audit: Generates an immutable timeline audit log for every run, including hashes, execution tokens, security signals, and raw payload evidence for complete transparency.

The project is built using a modern tech stack including Next.js 16, React 19, and TypeScript, with styling handled by Vanilla CSS. It supports AI models like Google Gemini, Groq Llama-3, and custom OpenAI endpoints. Deployment is facilitated through Cloudflare Workers. TrustOS is committed to Zero-Trust AI Governance, Explainable AI, and Responsible Autonomous Systems, and is distributed under the MIT License.
