Meet Textly — Capture Text, Tables & More on Your MacEver tried copying text from an image, video, PDF, or application only to discover it couldn't be selected? That's exactly why I built Textly.Textly is a lightweight, privacy-first macOS utility that makes capturing, translating, and managing text effortless.
What makes Textly useful?
Capture Text AnywhereExtract text from images, videos, PDFs, presentations, websites, and app windows — even when the text can't normally be selected or copied. Table CaptureCapture tables while preserving their rows and columns, ready to paste and edit in Excel, Numbers, or your favorite apps. Instant TranslationCapture text and translate it into your preferred language without interrupting your workflow.Clipboard HistoryAccess previously copied text and reuse it whenever you need, without constantly switching between apps. Private & Offline OCRTextly uses Apple's Vision framework for on-device text recognition, so capturing text doesn't require an internet connection.Simple Mac WorkflowCapture what you need with a keyboard shortcut or a quick click, then paste it directly where you want.
Why I Built Textly
Textly started with a simple frustration — seeing text on my Mac screen but being unable to copy it.Whether it was text from a video, screenshot, PDF, or application, I wanted a quick way to capture it without taking screenshots or manually retyping everything. That's why I built Textly — to make capturing text from anywhere on a Mac effortless. As Textly evolved, I added translation and clipboard history to make everyday tasks even easier.Recently, I introduced Table Capture to solve another common frustration: copying tables from PDFs, images, or presentations without losing their rows and columns or having to rebuild them manually in Excel or Numbers. What started as a simple text capture tool has grown into something much more useful.
Try Textly Free
Textly offers a 3-day free trial without upfront payment, followed by a choice of a 6-month subscription or lifetime purchase.I'd love to hear your feedback, feature suggestions, and ideas for improving Textly!
