This project involved a deep-dive analysis of CGV Cinema’s raw operational and customer data, encompassing over 40,000 rows. I transformed a complex, real-world dataset into actionable business insights, culminating in 8+ strategic recommendations aimed at boosting revenue, enhancing customer experience, and optimizing operational efficiency.

My Process:
I followed a structured, end-to-end analytical process to ensure the integrity of the findings and the practicality of the recommendations.

Step 1: Data Wrangling & Cleaning
My first priority was to create a reliable foundation for analysis. This meticulous process in Excel was crucial and involved:
Handling Large-Scale Data: Managing and combining customer and ticket tables, totaling over 40,000 records.

Data Cleansing: Systematically correcting formatting inconsistencies, handling NULL values, and identifying/removing significant outliers (e.g., customers with over 7,000 transactions) to ensure data accuracy.

Data Transformation: Creating new, valuable columns, such as calculating customer age from raw date-of-birth data, to enable deeper segmentation and analysis.

Step 2: Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA)
With a clean dataset, I performed exploratory analysis to understand the business landscape. I created various visualizations and pivot tables to answer key questions:
Who are our most valuable customer segments? (by age, gender, job)
What are the top-performing movie genres and peak showtimes?
How does spending behavior correlate with customer demographics?
Are there significant performance gaps in our operations (e.g., by cashier)?

Step 3: Insight Generation & Strategic Recommendations
The final step was to connect the dots. I focused on translating the "what" (the data) into the "so what" (the business implication), leading to actionable recommendations.

Business Data Analyst

As a business student with a passion for data-driven insights, I undertook a challenging data science project to analyze the 2020 National High School Exam results for over 70,000 students in Ho Chi Minh City. While the technical landscape was unfamiliar, I was determined to push my limits and explore the potential of data science.
1. Data Wrangling and Cleaning: Successfully extracted and cleaned a massive dataset of over 70,000 records using Python programming language.
2. Data Exploration and Visualization: Utilized Matplotlib and Numpy to visualize trends and patterns within the data, uncovering valuable insights into student performance.

Data Science with Python - National High Scho

At VTC Academy, as part of my final project before graduation. I and my team, including 3 members, started to implement digital marketing strategies and practices for Ngã Coffee & Desserts, a local coffee shop at K4/2 Dang Thuy Tram Street, Da Nang City. Our scope of this project includes social media marketing, Design, Video Marketing, Facebook Ads, Branding, Market Research, Chatbot Integration, and AI Application. 

Overall, after roughly 2 and a half months, Ngã Coffee & Desserts has successfully rebranded itself as a vintage, and energetic place for youth (previously Ngã is known as Hẻm Xéo Cafe, a place for the Indie music fan community). Furthermore, Ngã also reported an increase of over 60% in revenue. Lastly, our team also successfully completed two Awareness Facebook Ads campaigns with more than 60,000+ reach in Da Nang City in 10 days with a total budget of ~600,000 - 700,000 VNĐ

Digital Marketing - Ngã Coffee & Desserts

I participated as a team member in the “Kickstart Your First Career” challenge organized by Trà Đá Mentor, a pioneering social enterprise in life mentoring for Vietnamese youth. In this competition, mentees were grouped into teams to propose innovative solutions for improving or developing Trà Đá Mentor’s services, under the guidance of experienced mentors. Our team’s proposal was recognized as one of the Top 2 outstanding projects.

My key contributions included:

Conducted market research and analyzed customer journey stages (awareness, consideration, conversion) for Trà Đá Mentor’s services.

Performed mentee segmentation based on demographic and behavioral insights to identify key target groups and their needs.

Evaluated the effectiveness of current marketing tactics (social media, partnerships, website, testimonials, events).

Proposed leveraging ex-mentees as brand advocates to enhance social proof and boost conversion rates, including ideas for testimonial series, live Q&A, and referral programs.

Unlock is a self-built productivity companion that helps users track progress, reflect consistently, and cultivate skills through focused learning.

The idea came from my own struggle to build habits and retain knowledge effectively. I conducted informal market research and applied the B=MAP behavioral model to design features that reduce friction and increase consistency:
– Goal-setting flow with prompts
– Daily reflection with mood check-ins
– Skill tracker tied to the 20-hour learning principle

I used Vibe Coding to build and deploy the app, along with Supabase for auth and database. The project helped me improve not only in product thinking and frontend development, but also in user research and applying behavioral science in tech.
