On the AdelaideX project, I worked with a small team of eLearning Designers and academics to produce leading-edge MOOCs (Massive open online course) in conjunction with edX.

In particular, I was project manager and lead learning designer for Managing Addiction with Health Sciences, Language Revival with Linguistics and Think.Create.Code. with Computer Sciences. Our courses received excellent feedback from edX and learners and Think.Create.Code. in particular supported 20,000 learners, while Managing Addiction resulted in some of the highest retention we've seen on edX.

Freelance Actor

In conjunction with Web Design Cafe, I founded and bootstrapped Opentute ("Your Open Institute"), a B2B SAAS product providing mobile, micro-learning apps with LMS and networking. Clients included the University of Adelaide (WHO Collaborating Centre), Wine Australia and Prime Practice. This business was closed down as of June 2024, with ongoing client support provided by Web Design Cafe and Coursebox.

Front Office Receptionist

As Instructional Designer at Open Colleges, I was responsible for selecting authors, mapping content to VET (vocational education and training) standards, drafting and validating assessments, and general project management. 

In particular, I was selected to design the first Open Colleges non-accredited courses, into which I integrated not only modern adult learning pedagogical approaches but 'Action Points' to encourage learner communication on social media, along with video-centric learning methodologies. This course has been received very well with stronger progression than seen in comparable courses throughout the organisation.

SAE offer VET and degree programs in Audio, Film, Animation, Games Design, Design and IT. I was responsible for student progression and support across all six degree programs, as well as staff departmental coordination and related management activities. I worked closely with the National Academic Coordinator and the General Manager to ensure solid academic leadership.

Campus Academic Coordinator

I developed and delivered the Photoshop curriculum for Digital Graphics and the Still Image at UTS for the Master of Interactive Multimedia.

Graphic Design Lecturer

I consulted on the Learning Management System for the transition project to the New Royal Adelaide Hospital. Duties include architecture design, tracking and reporting through to executive level on training completions, user experience and eLearning design. I work with a great learning team as part of Workforce as we train 7000 staff on an enormous range of new software, systems and medical equipment.

As of May 2024, Ekaterina Komarova is now Managing Director and lead consultant at Web Design Cafe, a virtual web and app agency.

Web Design Cafe is a boutique IT consultancy, offering Learning and Development consulting, custom web development and bespoke IT support. I founded and then invested into the growth of this digital provider until April 2024, at which point my successor Ekaterina Komarova took over as Managing Director.

Clients include The University of Adelaide, The SA Government, Adelaide Airport, Positive Minds, SA Health (Royal Adelaide Hospital) and Prime Practice.

Workstar is an eLearning provider, with a blended team of solution-focused people, including learning designers, visual designers and technical staff. 

I was responsible for overseeing that the design and development process resulted in solutions matched to stakeholder requirements. As well as creating High Level Designs, Storyboards, User Flows, Scripts, and Content Treatments, I worked closely with our Flash Designers, quality assurance testers and developers to ensure successful outcomes. At each point of the process, I reviewed, QA’d and arranged client signoff of deliverables. Clients included DOHA, Electrolux, Michael Hill, GYG and J&J.
