The Transportation Division represents the Texas Department of Transportation in all litigation matters. This includes eminent domain (land acquisition), prosecution of violations of highway beautification laws, enforcement of contracts, recoupment of monies expended by the state for job-related injuries and externally caused damages to state property, defense of employment discrimination claims, defense of tort claims, and prosecution and collection of certain administrative penalties. The Transportation Division also handles condemnation cases for all state agencies having the power of eminent domain.

Drafted petitions, motions, and responses.  Prepared and answered complex discovery.  First-chair trial experience, Second-chair trial experience.  Reviewed and organized voluminous documents and records, analyzing this information to prepare complex legal strategies and arguments for litigation.  Conducted witness depositions

Served as General Counsel to the late Senator Gallegos.   Provided legal advice, prepared opinions, bill analyses, briefs, and drafted bills and amendments for legislative consideration. Served and advised the Senator on all legal issues of concern.  Advised Senators, Committee Chairs, Department Heads, and constituents on legal issues concerning the Texas House and Senate.  Pressed bills through the legislative process, and monitored implementation of legislation and the impact on governmental agencies.  Served and advised the Senator on all legal issues of concern
