PublishRank is built with a newsroom at heart, catering to publishers of all sizes, from independent reporters to large news organizations. Its architecture is designed for high-volume WordPress sites, utilizing keyset/cursor processing to avoid pagination issues in the sitemap engine. The plugin aims to streamline the publisher's SEO workflow, allowing teams to concentrate on journalism.

The project emphasizes practical guides and honest answers, offering documentation on installation, setup, news SEO, structured data, and technical SEO. It also provides comparative guides for choosing SEO plugins and preparing content for search engines and Google Discover. PublishRank operates as a fully nonprofit project, dedicated to serving publishers rather than generating profit.
