Jagriti Yatra is an ambitious train journey of discovery and transformation that takes hundreds of India's highly motivated youth, especially those who are from small towns and villages of India, on a 15 day, 8000 km national odyssey to meet the role models - social and business entrepreneurs - of the country. The vision of Jagriti is 'building India through enterprise'.

I was a Yatri in 2016. The sheer scale of operations of the Yatra intrigued me. In 2018, I applied to volunteer and got selected in ERC. 

What is ERC?
The 30 member team of Engine Room Club help with the operations, programming and media on the biggest train event of its kind in the world!. The ERC makes sure the train reaches the next stop on time, that everyone onboard has been served fresh, delightful meals and that the experience is smooth and conducive to learning.

The new year brought a new role at Customer360, where I took on the responsibility for the UX team and its deliverables. Key responsibilities: + Collaborated with management to define scope, use cases, and scenarios. + Reviewed deliverables to maintain interactive and visual consistency. + Developed use cases, high-level requirements, and conceptual diagrams. + Ensured the UX team stayed 3-4 weeks ahead of the development team.

Tala.co is a Fintech company providing microloans to underserved populations in emerging markets through a mobile app. It has consistently been recognized on Forbes' Fintech 50 list for eight years and CNBC's Disruptor 50 list for five years. Key contributions @Tala + Crafted the UX for Tala's lending products across 4 emerging markets. + Improved task completion time and success rate of the loan application form by 2x or more. + Increased loan acceptance rates by 30% by addressing trust and clarity issues for low-tech users. + Optimized KYC metrics, achieving improvements of 3% to 9%. + Led UX writing strategy for the Indian market. + Rebuilt the design system in Figma, transitioning from Sketch.

UX Designer

Customer360 was acquired by Interactive Intelligence (NASDAQ: ININ) in November 2015. At ININ, I crafted the UX for PureCloud, a B2B cloud-based customer relationship software. I designed the UX for two products—PureCloud Track and PureCloud Documents—helping contact centers unify channels (phone, email, chat, social) for better customer and employee engagement. Key contributions: + Defined information architecture, wireframes, prototypes, and visuals. + Conducted guerrilla and user testing to optimize the design. + Led cross-functional sessions to drive ideation and UX creation. + Collaborated with development teams to ensure design accuracy.

Senior UX Designer

OkCredit is a Fintech company offering a digital bookkeeping app that helps small businesses and shop owners manage their accounts and track transactions easily. Key contributions @OkCredit + Designed experiences for Bookkeeping and Lending products. + Boosted activation rate by ~1% over 6 months in a row, activating ~1.5M users. + Elevated payment UX, leading to a $54K surge in merchant transactions. + Launched a Content Design System with 15+ content patterns + Managed 3 UX-writers in a solid-line capacity, shaping UX for 2 products.

Senior Product Designer

Customer360 is a B2B customer engagement software for contact centers, enabling multi-channel communication via email, social media, live chat, video chat, and in-app messages. Key contributions: + Led design end-to-end + Conducted user research, defined information architecture, user flows, and user stories. + Created low to high fidelity prototypes with InVision, MarvelApp, and HTML/CSS/JS. + Worked with developers to ensure user-centric workflows and feature consistency. + Developed scalable UI components for web and mobile. + Guided engineers on iteration-friendly frontends, reducing friction and speeding up release cycles.

GreyAtom was an EdTech startup offering onsite programs in emerging technologies like Data Science, IoT, AR, and VR. Their offerings included both services and an in-house cloud-based software product, Commit.Live. Key contributions @GreyAtom + Crafted UX for the company website and Commit.Live product. + Interviewed users, designed interactions, and validated designs for Commit.Live. + Improved business conversions, trust, and engagement on the website. + Instituted a data-driven and experimentation-focused design process.

MoEngage is a B2B customer engagement platform that helps businesses like Airtel, JPMC, Flipkart, Oyo, SoundCloud, and Domino's personalize communication across inbound and outbound channels on web, mobile, and TV to drive growth and retention. Key contributions @MoEngage + Owned 40% of high-value product areas (Campaign Management, Inform, Admin). + Led Settings UX revamp (19 modules) with CPO and Tech Leads, resolving 5 years of debt. + Spearheaded 2 Design OKRs (UX Audit, Design Culture) across multiple design pods. + Drove 50-60% of the interview process, hiring 5+ designers and 1 researcher. + Managed a 2-designer pod in a dotted-line capacity, overseeing UX for 5 product pods. + Launched a Design System with 10+ UI components.

Lead Product Designer
