Software Engineering Intern

Backend IC in a HRM product. JVM specialist, systems-revamp ownership.

- Upgraded 45 microservices from Java 8 to Java 17 (with Spring + dependent library upgrades) at 4X pace vs. peer developers — by scripting away the mechanical changes
- Revamped the legacy Leave Management system into an event-driven design — cleaner code, faster feature work, immediate policy delivery to end users
- Heap memory analysis on production surges: partnered with DevOps to pull dumps, identify GC-missed objects, and ship the PR — resolved nearly 100% of memory-leak-driven heap incidents to ideal GC state
- API optimization for slow-listing alerts — brought p95 latency from 300ms to 60ms on the highest-impact APIs (below the 100ms target)
- Self-initiative microservice documentation (diagrammatic + descriptive) — faster onboarding
- Awarded "The Brainiac" for process improvement; founded internal backend engineers forum

Software Engineer

Software Engineer - Backend in a Series A startup as the 3rd Backend engineer - Engineered/Owned - orders, route optimization, payments, and messaging.

- Built end-customer order placement and fulfillment with delivery-slot mapping; used Google Maps API to compute shortest delivery paths for channel partners
- Hardened the core route engine ("Point Journey Plan") that directs channel partners in remote locations from inventory to pitstops to customers. Scale: 300 stops per village × 2,000 villages × 3 slots/day. Under a 1-2s Google Maps API rate limit, optimized the rest of the system logic to 100-500ms per route — moved from POC to production-grade
- Implemented multi-channel transactional messaging (SMS, WhatsApp) via Fyno integration
- Implemented UPI payments end-to-end: banking API webhook integration, payment confirmation, failure handling
- Enhanced the existing unstructured NodeJs repo to have standard controller architecture with configurable idemotency and caching from fireb

Pod lead and senior IC across the platform of an HR product. Owned response to every infra alert (heap, MySQL, MongoDB), drove root-cause fixes, and ran JVM spacing + GC reviews on affected services.

Highlights from this role:
- Migrated 102 Java 17 microservices to Java 25 + Spring boot 4 , with a team of 4, using Claude Code & OpenRewrite Recipie to fast-pace mechanical changes
- Built Service Desk — full-stack feature that captures screen recordings, network errors, and console logs at the moment of customer-reported failure, then auto-routes to the right developer
- Led pod of 7 (5 devs + 2 QA) through full SDLC: requirements → design → delegation → review → mentorship
- Conducted 35+ technical interviews across designations, including for roles senior to my own
- Daily Claude Code user since Dec 2025
