Amber is a versatile JavaScript and TypeScript runtime built with Rust and V8, designed for efficiency and reliability. It offers a single binary solution for running scripts, Jest-style tests, servers, and agent tools, all while providing an opt-in capability sandbox for enhanced security. Amber focuses on a clear, contract-tested compatibility surface, distinguishing itself from Node.js clones.

Unified Binary: Execute scripts, tests, servers, and agent tools from a single `amber` executable.

TypeScript Support: Run `.ts` and `.tsx` files directly, with type stripping handled by `oxc`. Stack traces point to your original `.ts` lines.

Jest-Style Testing: Features `describe`, `test`, and `expect` for testing with zero-argument discovery and a `--watch` mode.

HTTP Server: Export a fetch handler and `amber serve` will speak HTTP/1.1 to it, with optional `--https` support via `rustls`.

Capability Sandbox: By default, denies file, network, environment, and process access. Allows specific paths and hosts, with an audit trail.

Agent Tools: Export functions, print their schemas, and serve them over MCP stdio or JSON-RPC.

Subcommand CLI: Includes `amber run`, `amber test`, `amber serve`, `amber bundle`, `amber compile`, `amber install`, `amber mcp`, and `amber repl` for a comprehensive development workflow.

Contract-Based Compatibility: Clearly defines supported subsets of Node.js and Web platform APIs, with rigorous testing.

Open Source: Developed under the MIT license.

Get started quickly with prebuilt archives for macOS, Linux, and Windows, or build from source using Cargo. Amber aims to provide a stable and predictable runtime environment for modern JavaScript and TypeScript development.

FocusCal is a revolutionary time blocking application designed to help individuals and teams reclaim their calendars and protect their focus. Unlike traditional booking tools that allow others to directly schedule on your calendar, FocusCal operates on a request-based system. Users share a single, privacy-first link that allows others to see your general availability (busy/free blocks) without revealing any specific event details. When someone needs your time, they submit a request through this link, which then lands in a private inbox. From this inbox, you have complete control to drag and drop accepted requests onto your calendar, transforming them into dedicated time blocks. This asynchronous approach eliminates the need for back-and-forth emails and prevents double-booking, ensuring your schedule remains yours to manage. Key features include a request inbox for triaging tasks, drag-and-drop time blocking for easy calendar management, privacy-first availability settings, timezone-aware scheduling, and the ability for requesters to attach files and notes for context. FocusCal supports a full task lifecycle, from scheduling to marking tasks as done or archiving them. It's ideal for freelancers, founders, engineers, and advisors who are frequently fielding requests and need to protect their focused work time. The platform offers a free tier with core functionalities and a Pro tier with advanced features like unlimited active tasks and file attachments.

Share a single link to receive requests, not bookings.

Guests see only busy/free blocks, never your schedule details.

Requests land in a private inbox for your review and approval.

Drag and drop accepted requests directly onto your calendar to create time blocks.

Protect your focus time with an asynchronous scheduling workflow.

Supports time zone conversions automatically for seamless cross-timezone collaboration.

Requesters can attach files and notes for complete context.

Manage the full lifecycle of tasks: schedule, complete, or archive.

Ideal for freelancers, founders, and anyone managing inbound requests.
