I served as the PMO Lead for the Enterprise Transformation programme for a large bank in Nigeria. The programme aim was to move the bank from 7th position in deposits to top 3 over a time period; this amongs a number of other KPIs. The programme consisted of 9 projects with a PMO of which I was the leader directly reporting to the Programme Manager/ Senior Manager

In the early 2000s, the prevalent technical architecture in Nigeria was the client/server. However, the era of the internet was rapidly being adopted. The Equinox banking development team had to respond. In a classical build Vs Buy decision. Management wanted to see if a prototype of the Web-Based version of the Teller Module of the banking application could be achieved. Equinox Web-Teller was a successful proof-of-concept by a wholly Nigerian team that it could be done. Not only did it make use of JSP standard 1.0, and J2EE(1.3), it also incorporated biometric capabilities of Text-to-Speech (TTS) and Speech-To-Text (STT). The success of this prototype became a pre-cursor to the development of Neptune Software's  SUPERNOVA banking application

In the early 2000s, the payment processes were mainly semi-automated. All payments required the physical copy of bank tellers as proof of payment. NOUN is one of the products of trying to solve the problem of access to University level education without the physical presence of a classroom. In order to solve issues with payments, Bespoke technology developed a prototype payment engine. This engine generated unique keys (PINS) and was to sens these PINs to participatory banks by email. It also was to have matching features. All this was being done at the time when email was considered a luxury.

Transaction Fraud was a major challenge confronting the financial sector in the early 2000s. check cloning and other types of check fraud accounted for 60% of float attributable to uncleared effects in Nigeria. ISL (name at the time) alongside its strategic partner SAGEM SA of France, developed a solution targeting the premium end of the banking segment (High Networth Individuals and bodies-corporate). The solution with product name 'ISL Secure check' made use of biometric technology and 3-D imaging to eliminate check fraud/ cloning. This product was successfully launched with myself serving as the chief designer while double as the CTO of the company

The nigerian economy remains one where physical labour is required for most menial jobs. These jobs are paid hourly and require works to clock-in and clock-out at their work locations. The available technology at the time required the use of philately machines to punch in and out of work everyday. At the end of each period, accounting was done and labourers paid. This system had a preponderance of the fraudulent phenomenon called 'buddy punching' wherein someone else could punch in and out for an absentee worker. ISL, working with SAGEM SA of France developed a time and attendance solution that linked hours work using biometric markers. This was then integrated to the ERP of the company and reduced fraud in wages to customers. I served as the chief architect of the project. These product was part of a series of product lines in our biometric solution product line using SAGEM MorphoTouch, MorphoAcces and ActivCard identity management solutions
