BigFday.com is a market place for booking venues in major metros in India. Key USP of BigFday is to make venue booking process end to end possible through online eliminating any need for visiting the venue in person.

Venue booking market places is fast getting crowded with many players big & small like Just Dial, local Oye to name a few in the industry trying to get the edge. Almost all these players have a very similar offerings in terms of feature set & business model. Starting its presence in Chennai, BigFDay launched during first quarter of 2014 and quickly realized the pressing need to stand out in the crowded market. Sabin Rodriguez, Co-Founder & THE MAN behind BigFDay approached me to revamp the product experience. 

We took the responsive web approach to seamlessly cater to both mobile & desktop users. Also the clear signals from market indicating the mobile & desktop blended experience dominating over 70% of commerce experience compared to less than 30% of mobile only approach, lead us towards responsive web approach.

In the span of three months I helped them quickly revamp the landing page, browse venues, venue booking & lead gen, how to info experience. Seamless end-to-end experience combined with fresh visual experience helped BigFDay to stand out & become one of the best venue booking portals in India.

Key player in the user experience design of eBay’s Instant Sale project for Germany and North America. Played at all levels from working with the business, user research team, product design, development and testing.

Flipgigs, aims to create a talent based P2P student services marketplace connecting consumers and businesses with a scrappy, motivated, affordable network of students that are eager to take on part-time gigs and jobs. Flipgigs builds on the social profile and hence there is a greater trust associated with real identities unlike some other websites. It's not difficult to calculate your reliability, consistency, and responsiveness from the trail you leave as you engage with others on Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter. The incentive to be good is high as any negative rating has the possibility to be carried to the rest of the web through the social network.

Flipgigs was the first of the project of this kind and scale, for me as a freelancer at www.abovethemark.in. I did the end-to-end design and front-end development for this product. Some of the key task involves branding and logo design, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, illustrations, HTML/CSS and jQuery development.

Half.com is a subsidiary of eBay, in which sellers offer items at fixed prices, usually items that have a UPC, ISBN or other kind of SKU, rather than rare, old or collectible items. The items available on half.com are limited to books, textbooks, music, movies, video games, and video game consoles.

Design an Android app for the buyer experience in half.com is the first and major design project I took up in my contract with eBay India Development Center. Though there is already an iPhone app for half.com in the market, we wanted the visual and interaction design to be unique and not related to its iPhone counter part by any means. Half.com primarily a famous brand among college students and mostly younger user population, we wanted to provide them with an experience which appeals cool, looks simple and gets the task done in an easy way. 

The carousal view of displaying the search results, swipe and scroll interactions on the product view page, crisp iconography and strong visual design paradigm is all an effort to make the experience of the app users delighted and make the app sticky.
