<h3>RevTrace - Version Control for Altium Designer</h3><ul><li>Overview</li></ul>Native version-control system for Altium Designer projects. RevTrace was created to replace the team’s previous workflow of storing complete copies of Altium projects in Google Drive and to provide structured version history, branching, comparison and selective restoration directly inside the engineering workflow.<ul><li>My contribution</li></ul>I conceived and developed RevTrace independently in C#/.NET, including the overall architecture, Altium integration, version-control logic, revision comparison, restoration mechanisms, installer and user workflow.<ul><li>Engineering highlights</li></ul>RevTrace supports project history, commits, branching, visual comparison of revisions and selective restoration of design changes. Previous revisions can be opened as working project bases, allowing different features to be developed from different states of the same project and selected changes to be transferred between revisions through the comparison workflow.The system is integrated directly with Altium Designer rather than operating as a separate external tool. It was tested with Altium Designer 25 and the current production version used by the team.<ul><li>Result</li></ul>RevTrace was adopted by all 5 engineers in my former engineering team and replaced the previous Google Drive–based versioning workflow. Version Control for Altium Designer

<h3>SPLIT Electricity Meter Hardware</h3><ul><li>Overview</li></ul>Main hardware platform for a split-type electricity-metering device. The project combines mains power conversion, digital control, memory, communication and interface circuitry on a large two-sided PCB with strong mechanical and production constraints.<ul><li>My contribution</li></ul>I performed a detailed review and refactoring of the existing schematic and designed the PCB from scratch. The schematic work ranged from small corrections, such as changing resistor values in memory-device support circuitry, to a complete redesign of larger functional blocks, including the emergency-power subsystem. I then created the board outline, component placement, routing, 3D model integration and manufacturing outputs.<ul><li>Engineering highlights</li></ul>The PCB contains both high-voltage/power circuitry and dense low-voltage digital electronics. The layout required functional zoning, careful power routing, mechanical coordination with the enclosure, positioning of large THT components, and dense routing around the MCU and peripheral circuitry. The design also had to remain suitable for practical assembly and service.<ul><li>Result</li></ul>At the time I left the company, the hardware design was complete; only final drawing documentation remained to be finished.<ul><li>Tools / technologies</li></ul>Altium Designer, mixed-signal PCB design, mains electronics, SMPS, embedded hardware, memory interfaces, emergency power, DFM, production documentation.

SPLIT Electricity Meter Hardware

<h3>Multifunctional Single-Phase Smart Electricity Meter</h3><ul><li>Overview</li></ul>Industrial multifunctional single-phase smart electricity meter designed for residential energy metering and integration into automated metering infrastructure. The device combines precision energy measurement, mains-powered electronics, local indication, wired and wireless communications, non-volatile data storage, RTC functionality and anti-tamper features in a compact two-board architecture.<ul><li>My contribution</li></ul>I performed a major refactoring and redesign of the existing schematic and PCB implementation. The work included restructuring the hardware design, reviewing and correcting circuitry, reworking placement and routing, adapting the boards to the mechanical architecture, and preparing the design for prototyping and production. Firmware and enclosure design were handled by other specialists.<ul><li>Engineering highlights</li></ul>The hardware combines sensitive mixed-signal metering circuitry with 230 V power conversion, digital control, memory and communication interfaces including RS-485, LoRa 433 MHz and Bluetooth. PCB design required careful separation of noisy switching-power circuitry from the measurement path, high-voltage isolation, creepage/clearance control and mechanical coordination between the main meter board and the indication/communication board.<ul><li>Result</li></ul>The redesigned hardware was taken through prototyping and production preparation and the product reached serial production.<ul><li>Tools / technologies</li></ul>Altium Designer, mixed-signal PCB design, mains/high-voltage electronics, SMPS, RS-485, LoRa 433 MHz, Bluetooth, production documentation, DFM.

Multifunctional Single-Phase Smart meter

<h3>LoRa 433 MHz Smart Meter Communication Module</h3><ul><li>Overview</li></ul>Standardized replaceable radio communication module for electricity meters, developed for ROTEK. The device provides a LoRa 433 MHz communication channel for smart-meter integration and had to fit the mechanical and electrical constraints defined by the applicable Rosseti technical requirements.<ul><li>My contribution</li></ul>I developed the complete hardware platform, excluding firmware: schematic design, component selection, Altium libraries, PCB layout, mechanical fit, 3D verification and the full production documentation package.<ul><li>Engineering highlights</li></ul>The board integrates an E32 LoRa 433 MHz radio module, MCU/control electronics, multiple power rails, service/debug interfaces and the required meter-side connections within a tightly standardized form factor. The main challenge was fitting the complete electronics into a predefined mechanical envelope while preserving manufacturability, service access and reliable RF operation.<ul><li>Result</li></ul>The finished hardware was delivered to the customer and launched into production.<ul><li>Tools / technologies</li></ul>Altium Designer, LoRa 433 MHz, E32, embedded hardware, compact PCB layout, standardized form factor, manufacturing documentation, DFM.

<h3>Three-Phase Power Supply / Multifeeder Board</h3><ul><li>Overview</li></ul>Compact three-phase-input power-supply board based on a customer-provided design. The board accepts L1/L2/L3/N mains input and provides isolated low-voltage power and supervision functions for the host system.<ul><li>My contribution</li></ul>I refactored and cleaned up the customer schematic, then designed the PCB completely from scratch. I was responsible for component placement, routing, mechanical integration, 3D verification and the complete manufacturing documentation package.<ul><li>Engineering highlights</li></ul>The design combines three-phase mains input, high-voltage rectification, filtering, isolated flyback conversion, low-voltage regulation and AC/power supervision on a compact board. The PCB required clear separation of high- and low-voltage domains, practical routing of high-current/high-voltage paths, accommodation of large through-hole power components, and strict coordination with the mechanical envelope and connectors.<ul><li>Result</li></ul>The finished board was prepared for manufacturing and released to production.<ul><li>Tools / technologies</li></ul>Altium Designer, three-phase mains input, AC/DC conversion, flyback SMPS, high-voltage PCB layout, power supervision, DFM, manufacturing documentation.

<h3>E32+RS-485 Communication Module for a Smart Electricity Meter</h3><ul><li>Overview</li></ul>A compact communications module for installation inside an existing electricity meter. The project combines the existing E32-based radio/power platform with an additional RS-485 interface and auxiliary circuitry.<ul><li>My Contributions</li></ul>I developed the hardware integration and PCB design, excluding the firmware. This included schematic design, component placement, routing, connector positioning, 3D/mechanical verification, and manufacturing documentation.<ul><li>Engineering Highlights</li></ul>The electrical portion of the project is relatively straightforward; the main engineering challenge was the geometry. The module had to fit seamlessly into the existing meter architecture and properly connect to the surrounding boards and connectors. Therefore, the PCB outline, connector placement, component height, and interboard spacing were determined by the mechanical constraints of the finished device.<ul><li>Results</li></ul>The project was prototyped and put into production.<ul><li>Tools/Technologies</li></ul>Altium Designer, RS-485, E32 radio module, compact PCB design, board integration, 3D verification, manufacturing documentation.

<h3>E32 Radio Module Power/Control Board</h3><ul><li>Overview</li></ul>A compact electronic board designed as the base hardware platform for the E32 radio module used in electrical metering equipment. The board integrates the radio module with the necessary power conversion, control, and interface circuitry in a mechanically constrained form factor.<ul><li>My Contributions</li></ul>I designed the hardware and implemented the printed circuit board (PCB), including schematic design, component selection, placement, routing, Altium library integration, 3D verification, prototyping, manufacturing documentation, and prepared fabrication files.<ul><li>Engineering Highlights</li></ul>The project required the integration of grid-related power conversion and low-voltage control/radio electronics while fitting within the existing meter platform geometry. Particular attention was paid to the placement of large power components, mechanical clearances, connector accessibility, and the interconnection between the E32 module, control electronics, and the final enclosure. ResultThe board was developed as a production-ready module and became the basis for subsequent communications equipment, including the E32 + RS-485 variant. A 500-unit run of the board was installed on a pilot facility, after which it was released for serial production.<ul><li>Tools/Technologies</li></ul>Altium Designer, E32/LoRa hardware, power electronics, embedded control circuits, compact PCB layout, 3D PCB integration, and production preparation.

E32 Radio Module

<h3>Network Coordinator Family</h3>OverviewA specialized device designed to collect, process, and transmit data from smart electricity meters to the upper system level – a data acquisition and transmission device (DAT).<ul><li>My Contribution</li></ul>I developed the hardware and printed circuit board (PCB) implementation for the entire coordinator family, including schematic design, component selection, PCB layout, mechanical integration, library management, prototyping, production documentation, and production files. The coordinator has been developed in versions with different housings and microcontrollers: the D3MG/V32, D1MG/V32, and D1MG/V8510.<ul><li>Key Features</li></ul>The coordinator integrates a 220V power converter, an E32 radio module, RS-485, a microcontroller, fast and non-volatile memory, a watchdog timer, and auxiliary interfaces. The most compact version uses a dual-board architecture with boards mounted at a 90-degree angle, separating the power/RS-485 section from the main control and radio electronics. The design required close mechanical coordination with the enclosure, high component density, and meticulous routing within a limited space.<ul><li>Results</li></ul>Several generations of hardware were designed, prototyped, and prepared for serial production.
